We received a quote from another company for $1000 USD, which was half of what GP from Adodis Technologies quoted us, so we were back on Skype to negotiate. After about an hour of haggling over cost and features, we decided to take a break and continue tomorrow.

So we continued our negotiation today and Mr. Purandhar (GP) asked us to put down a $500 USD deposit to lock in the price. GP told us that he would not be able to give us the same price the following week. It was strange to get a pressure sale from a software development firm, but since we were still negotiating with other companies, we told GP that we could not commit at the moment. This should have been a red flag warning us not to use Adodis Technologies for our project.
