We Can’t Demo On Our Server, We Need Access To Your Server

So 8 weeks into our 5 week project and 4 weeks after ACP Mani of Adodis Technologies requested a 4 week extension, we finally reach our deadline and are anxiously awaiting for our demo. Instead, we get a new excuse from ACP Mani that they need our server details so they can upload the files and show the demo. ACP Mani explains that the project works on their local machine, but does not work on their demo machine due to the sub directories. There were two problems with this excuse.

From a technical standpoint, if they developed this project from scratch (another issue we will address later) they should have been using relative paths which would make their solution agnostic to the installation location on the server.

The second issue is that we did not have a separate server available for them to use, so we had to create new cPanel account with the corresponding login credentials and allocate resources on one of our existing servers for them to use. This is additional work that will turn out to be unnecessary as will be seen in the days ahead.
